X-League Owners’ Meetings Scheduled for October in St. Louis

August 28, 2014 (Palm Harbor, FL) | The 2014 X-League Owners’ Meetings will be held in St. Louis, Missouri on October 3-5. Among the topics being discussed at the league meetings will be rule changes, divisional alignments and league standards. The X-League, which has been furiously adding teams over the past few months, has also invited vendors, sponsors, and other special guests to attend the meetings. The owners also plan to discuss different ways to market the league as well as how to handle future expansion and growth.

Now with nine teams in the league, Andrew Haines, St. Louis Attack Owner, says he’s excited about the future of the league. “Commissioner Mink and the rest of the league staff have worked hard this off season to add quality teams,” he said. “I am expecting some additional teams to be announced before or shortly after the meetings. We look forward to hosting the owners in St. Louis, and helping the league organize the meetings.”

The X-League is currently comprised of the Alabama Outlawz, Cape Fear Heroes, Corpus Christi Fury, Florida Marine Raiders, Florida Tarpons, Georgia Rampage, Rio Grande Valley Sol, Savannah Steam and St. Louis Attack. “We are excited to have the St. Louis Attack host the Owners’ Meetings and look forward to a great time with our fellow team owners and staff. There is a lot of work ahead of us in 2015 and we all look forward to the challenge of improving together as one,” said Commissioner Michael Mink.

Five of the nine teams in the X-League played in its League’s Championship Game in 2014. In addition to the contest between Corpus Christi Fury and the Florida Tarpons in the UIFL, the St. Louis Attack played the Florida Marine Raiders in the X-League Championship, and the Cape Fear Heroes played in the AIF Championship. The X-League is still reviewing expansion applications as well as communicating with additional established teams about joining the existing nine teams that make up the X-league. The current line-up of teams is expected to grow further as we get closer to the 2015 X-League Season.
